How to Make a Friendship Quiz and Share It With Friends
A "how well do you know me" quiz is one of the easiest ways to have fun with your friends. You answer a few questions about yourself, send a link, and your friends try to guess your answers. The result is a score for every friend and a good reason to start a conversation.
This guide shows you how to make a friendship quiz in about two minutes, how to write questions that are actually fun, where to share it and how to get more friends to take part. It also explains how to use the scoreboard and how to keep the game friendly.
What is a friendship quiz?
A friendship quiz is a short game about you. Every question has two to four answers, and you pick the one that fits you best. Your friends get the same questions, but they have to guess what you picked. For each correct guess they earn a point. When they finish, they see their score, and you see everybody's score ranked on a scoreboard.
The idea is simple, which is why it works so well. It takes a minute to play, you do not need an account, and the result is easy to compare. It also gives you a playful way to find out who pays attention to you.
Step 1: Pick a quiz
Choose the style that fits your group. On testyou.me you can pick from five quizzes:
- Fake Friend Finder: the classic test about your habits and favorite things.
- Trust Me Not: questions about loyalty, secrets and how you react to things.
- Block Me Not: questions about your social media habits.
- My Fake Friend List: questions about your personality and opinions.
- Real Ones Only: questions about your lifestyle, plans and dreams.
If you are not sure, start with the Fake Friend Finder. It has easy questions that almost every friend can guess, which keeps the game fun for everybody.
Step 2: Answer the questions about yourself
Enter your name, choose an avatar and answer ten questions. The most important rule: answer honestly. The quiz is more fun when your answers show your real habits, even if they are a bit embarrassing.
Do not like a question? Tap skip, and a new one takes its place. You can skip questions that feel too personal, too obvious or just not you.
Step 3: Share your personal link
When you answer the last question, you get your own quiz link. Use the share buttons to send it on WhatsApp, Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, Messenger or Telegram, or copy the link and paste it anywhere. Each platform works a little differently:
- WhatsApp: opens a chat with a ready-made message. Choose a group or a single friend.
- Telegram: works the same way and is good for bigger groups.
- Instagram and Snapchat: the link is copied and the app opens. Paste the link in a story, a DM or your bio. Add a sticker or text like "Do you know me?" to draw attention.
- Facebook and Messenger: share it on your timeline, in a group or in a private message.
Step 4: Check your scoreboard
Tap Check scores to see who took your quiz. Friends are ranked from highest to lowest, and every friend gets a verdict, such as Real friend or Fake friend. You also see the average score of your group and the top score. The page updates by itself, so keep it open and watch the scores come in.
Keep your private scoreboard link safe. On the same phone or computer you can always get back to it with My scores in the menu. On another device you need the link from the share page.
What makes a good quiz question?
The best questions are easy to answer for you, and just hard enough for your friends. Good questions have a few things in common:
- They are about you, not about general knowledge. "Do I take milk in my coffee?" is better than "What is the capital of France?"
- They have clear options. A choice between two to four answers keeps the game quick.
- They have a bit of fun. A silly or surprising question usually leads to the best stories.
- They are not too private. Avoid questions that would embarrass you or others when answered in a group.
Our quizzes already use questions like these, so you do not have to write your own. If you want to play a custom game in a chat, you can find 40 ready-made questions in our guide on how well your friends know you.
Tips to get more friends to take your quiz
You made your quiz and sent it to one group chat, but only two friends answered. That is normal. Here is how to reach more people:
- Share it more than once. Messages get buried quickly. Send the link again the next day with a different line, like "I bet you cannot score more than 7 out of 10".
- Use different places. A story, a group chat and private messages reach different people.
- Make it personal. A message that starts with a friend's name gets far more attention than a message to everyone.
- Make it a challenge. People love to prove themselves. Say "I wonder who knows me best" and friends will want to win.
- Ask top scorers to post their result. When friends share their score, others get curious and join.
- Pick the right moment. Evenings and weekends are when most people have time to play.
Safe and friendly sharing
A quiz is meant to be fun, so keep it light. Do not use the scores to embarrass someone or to make people feel left out. If a friend gets a low score, laugh about it and tell them the real answers. Also, think about who you send the link to. A quiz link is easy to forward, so share it with people you know.
Use a first name or a nickname instead of your full name. Friends will recognize you, and you do not need to share more than necessary.
What to do with the results
Look at the scoreboard with a smile. High scorers are probably the friends who pay the most attention to you. Low scorers may simply not know these small details. If you want to know more about what a score means, read our guides on the signs of a fake friend and on real friends versus fake friends.
A good next step is to reach out to a friend you have not talked to in a while and who scored high. Or make a second quiz with a different theme and see if the top of the list changes.
